Steven began his military career as a Deck Seaman aboard the U.S.S. Jarrett, serving from 1997 to 2000. During his time on the ship, he developed an interest in becoming a Hospital Corpsman, which influenced his subsequent career decisions.

Service at MCRD San Diego

From 2000 to 2002, Steven served at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) San Diego as a Company Corpsman helping to train over 1000 Marine Recruits. His experience at this location further shaped his professional path within the military.

Deployment with the 1st Marine Battalion Weapons Company

After leaving MCRD San Diego, Steven was assigned to the 1st Marine Battalion Weapons Company in Iraq, where he served from 2002 to 2004. He was responsible to the health and welfare of 100 Marines and Sailors. This deployment marked a significant period in his military journey.
